Harpago (Harpagophytum procumbens)

The Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil's Claw) contains harpagosido and sitoesterois, the main active compounds responsible for the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of this potent plant. Occurs inhibition of prostaglandin synthetase (participant in the inflammatory process), more preferably in chronic cases. Thus, use of this plant is especially important in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, including arthritis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, accompanied by pain. In addition, the Harpago is effective in reducing levels of uric acid and cholesterol in blood, strengthening the immune system, improvement of liver function in digestion and healing process. Several studies have shown that, using this plant was possible to reduce the dosage of NSAIDs (Non Steroid Anti- Inflammatory) required for the relief of pain caused by osteoarthritis.

 

Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate

Glucosamine is an amino monosaccharide in the human body, with functions relevant to the level of the musculoskeletal system. Participates in promoting and maintaining the structure and function of cartilage and joints. Stimulates the production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and inhibits enzymes responsible for the degradation and articular cartilage. Chondroitin is a glucosaminoglycan (heteropolysaccharide) which, in the form of proteoglycan ground substance forms the extracellular matrix of connective tissue. It is found in bone and cartilaginous tissues and is a major structural component of cartilage. Promotes the maintenance of the structure and function of the cartilage, exerts anti-inflammatory activity at the level of musculoskeletal structure and inhibits the action of enzymes that destroy cartilage. The glucosamine and chondroitin are excellent chondroprotective, i.e. not only prevent the deterioration of cartilage and synovial fluid (lubricant natural joint) but also stimulate the synthesis of cartilage and hyaluronic acid (a substance that confers viscosity of the synovial fluid, contribute to reduce friction and facilitate movement).They are, therefore, compounds essential for maintaining the elasticity and flexibility of the joints and for monitoring the enzymes responsible for degradation joint. Acting jointly enhance their therapeutic actions. Either glucosamine or chondroitin are present in the form of sulphate as it is so that they are better absorbed by the human body.

 

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

It is a natural form of organic sulfur, which is found in nature in several varieties of fruit and vegetables, and in animals, including man (most is in muscles and is essential for collagen synthesis). The MSM has analgesic properties and is particularly important in relieving the pain of the joints.lt is responsible for the effect of muscle repair and stimulation of immunity in autoimmune diseases.

 

Collagen

The collagen, a tough fibrous protein is the main constituent of connective tissue. It is present in muscles, tendons, cartilage, ligaments and bones, helping to rebuild them and giving them flexibility and endurance. Collagen also allows to occur an increase in mobility and a decrease in stiffness and pain in cases of osteoarticular disease.

 

Not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding or if you are taking anticoagulants, unless medically indicated.

This product is well tolerated by diabetics.
